Inspection And Issue Of Safety Approvals

After obtaining drawing approval, erection work shall be executed strictly as per the approved drawings. Upon completion of work, a completion report from the Licensed Electrical contractor (enlisted with HP Electrical Inspectorate) in the prescribed form along with requisite Challan in original towards inspection fee paid be forwarded to the Electrical Inspectorate. The details of the connected load, calibration reports, site test results, equipment manufacturer testing reports, etc. shall be sent by the owner of the installation to the Electrical Inspectorate for inspection along with the aforesaid documents.

At the time of inspection a responsible representative of the consumer, Electrical supervisor and a representative of the contractor should be present with their licence, permit and testing instruments. The defects pointed out during the inspection should be rectified in order to bring the installation in general conformity with the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010 and BIS specifications and a rectification report signed by the consumer and contractor should be sent to the Electrical Inspectorate. After verification of the compliance report by the inspecting officer, safety approval will be granted under Rule 30, 32, 36 & 43 or any other relevant regulation of CEA (Measures relating to Safety & Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010 respectively.
